The role:
– Research primarily on FX, FI and commodity markets
– Need to work to tight deadlines
– A regular supply of technically driven trade ideas
– Direct interaction with FX sales and trading located on the trading floor
– Speaking at events as well as the morning meeting
– Interaction with clients of HSBC
– To develop, drive and lead an innovative technical product for HSBC research

The successful applicant will write the daily Charting Europe column, four daily market previews, and brief forecasts for the MARKET BEAT product. Candidates must be a Full member of the Society of Technical Analysts, or its equivalent, familiar with CQG, able to write quickly and accurately, and capable of justifying their predictions. Job Title: Senior Technical Analyst
The Role
A leading independent research and funds management house is looking to appoint a Senior Technical Analyst within their Equities team.
The role involves providing a technical analysis service to retail clients, complementing the company’s existing suite of fundamental research products.
Responsibilities
The individual will be required to:
• cover large and mid caps along with main indices, in the UK, Europe, and US equity markets
• Monitor key moves within this group, and alerting the heads of research and client base to resultant buy or sell opportunities
• Assist fundamental analysts in the publication of weekly research documents, providing key technical input
• Assist in the presentation of technical analysis seminars for retail audiences
• Maintain existing in house technical analysis database, and assist in enhancing these going forward
Necessary Skill Sets
Critical
• Holder of STA diploma (Society of Technical Analysts) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
• Robust interpersonal and presentation skills
• Experience with UK equity markets and stocks
Preferred
• An extensive knowledge of Bloomberg
• FSA qualifications
The Individual will need
• An ability to work to deadlines
